Alfred Harper was born in Carthage, Texas on Sunday September 21, 1952 to the parents of Ms. Beatrice Culpepper and Mr. Frank Harper. He departed this life, on Sunday morning, November 24, 2019, at 7:05am at his sister's residence.
Prior to the time of his birth, his mother also had a daughter , Linda Culpepper Holland. Shortly after their births. Ms. Beatrice moved to Longview, Texas and he and she resided there until their demise.
In his youth, Alfred attended school in Longview at Janie Daniels and Maggie B. Hudson Elementary Schools and later entered Job Corp in Austin , Texas. His abilities reflected the potential to receive a scholarship as a doctor.
After returning home from Austin, Alfred worked for LeTourneau for awhile and numerous other jobs. His last employment was for five years with Tri-State City Buses in Longview.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Johnathan Culpepper, Alvin Harper, and Steve Harper and a nephew Alfonzo Hall.
Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Sharon Marshall, Linda Holland, Debra Randall, Glenda Clough, Brenda Culpepper, Dorothy Harper, Teresa Harper, Debra Ann Harper, Edith Harper and Mildred Jammison all of Longview, TX; brothers, Bobby Culpepper and his wife Sharon of Jefferson City, MO; Tommy P. Culpepper and his wife Tewonna, Thomas Culpepper, L.C. Harper and Steve Tyrone Harper Writt all of Longview, TX; and a very, very special friend Helen Mayfield Tatum of Longview, TX; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
