Mr. David Neal Bender Sr.

August 14, 1958 — April 26, 2020

David Neal Bender was born on August 14, 1958, to Johnnie Wesley Bender and Dessie Mae Wilson Bender in Longview, Texas. He was the 8th child born to this union. He was the “baby boy”.

David attended Ned E. Williams school and graduated from Longview High School in 1976. His favorite past times were dancing, fishing, listening to good music, playing spades, and especially spending time with his family and friends. David was a very hard worker and was gainfully employed at Atlas Van Lines  Moving Company for over 25 years until his health began to fail.

David was well known on the Northside, Southside, and the Eastside, too.   Everyone loved him because of his larger than life personality. He was the  “life of the party”. David loved good food and his daughter, Kim, loved to cook for him. He was always grateful. David was a member of St. Paul  Missionary Baptist Church for many years. His trusted friend, Dot, would often transport him and take him where ever he needed to go. He attended the Best Friends Adult Activity Center for many years.

David Neal Bender was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A “shining star” has fallen and our universe will never be the same. If you ever met David Bender, you will never forget him.

He was preceded in death by both parents and siblings: Dennis, Archie, Eddie, Baxton Jr., Hubert Ray, Price, Ivy, Clifton Wayne, Brady, Planell, Virginia, Eva Dorothy, Gloria, Ola Mae, Mary and Josie. One child: Lois
