Mrs. Faye Oyn Swift was born to the union of Joseph and Avalonia Dedmon on October 9,1938. She attended school in Longview, Texas and was a majorette and graduated from Longview Colored High.
Mother Swift worked as a housekeeper for over 40 years for the Clifford Trice Family and the Talford Graham Family. She also had her own janitorial business.
Mother Swift was united in matrimony to Mr.Charles L. Swift and to this union four children were born. 2 sons Tony A. Swift and Charles L. Swift Jr. and 2 daughters Yolanda D. Swift Lawson and Ms. Valencia Swift.
She accepted the Lord into her life at an early age and attended Jerusalem Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church and later finalizing her membership at Miracle Tabernacle Prayer & Praise Cathedral all of Longview, Texas.
She enjoyed singing and spending time with family and being an aged woman leading and teaching the younger women.
Mrs. Faye Swift is preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Clyde Dedmon,Joseph Gardner,James Gardner, Mother Shirley Shaw),her husband Mr. Charles L. Swift and son Charles L. Swift Jr.
She is survived by her children Yolanda Lawson of Longview, Texas,Tony (Shirley) Swift of Carrollton, Texas,Valencia Swift of Longview, Texas and stepson Billy "BP"(Linda) Price of Katy,Texas. Five grandchildren, Charity Lawson, Shaminique Swift, Larissa Rosborough , Krisney (Gaylon) Davis, and Jhaston Faggans all of Longview, Texas. Five step-grandchildren ,Kimberly (Antwon) Patterson of Houston, Texas,Stacy Lawson , Kenya Lewis, Tiaa (Bruce) Jeffery,Jade Lawson all of Longview, Texas. Melissa (Malcolm) Burdette and Rene Garcia of California. Also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
