John Henry Earl Mayfield

John Henry was born in Marshall, Texas on November 9, 1958 to the parentage of Robert Earl Mayfield and Armatha Osborne. Later they moved to Longview, Texas and at a very young age Henry attended Church with his mother and grandparents at Union Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas.

In his youth he attended Rollins Elementary, Ned E. Williams and Forest Park .

During the course of his life he lived in Dallas, Texas for a few years and later made Longview, Texas his home. He was a skilled carpenter and a master diesel mechanic. Those skills enabled him to build or fix anything.

John Henry Is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl Mayfield and Armatha Osborne, sister Sylvia Ann Mayfield and brother Joe Lewis Mayfield.

Survivors include his daughter's mother, Tammie Lewis, his daughter, Lakendra Rochelle Mayfield; grandchildren: Tavoris, Shamyia, Katliyah and Javorian, all of Longview, TX. Brothers: Rufus (Marie) King of Kilgore, TX; Herbert (Alberta) Mayfield ; Tyron (Sonia) Mayfield all of Dallas, Tx. Sisters: Helen G. Tatum; Lavenia (T.B.) Crayton and Beverly J. Mayfield all of Longview, TX. Aunts: Helen Williams of Longview, TX; Lucy Owens of Enid, OK ; Aunt Tugg of Marshall, TX and a very large host of nieces, nephews and friends.
