Mrs. Mary Helen Green Johnson was born on Feb. 17, 1930 to Willie and Ruth Green in Lumber, Arkansas.
Mary attended Waldo, Arkansas schools and graduated from Waldo High School.
Mary, joined Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Waldo, Arkansas. She was an active member in the missionary and the choir.
Mary and Zebedee Johnson were married March 10, 1951 and to this union three children were born. In October 1951 her and her family moved to Longview ,Texas.
She united with Growing Valley Baptist Church in 1967. She was active in the choir, Circle #3, Missionary,Sunday School and custodial duties of Growing Valley Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until her departure from this earth.
She was well known in the Northside Community as a caregiver, provider and a devout Christian.
Also, as a loving, sweet, kind hearted, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her Grandchildren affectionately knew her as " Big Mama".
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Willie Green, Calvin(son), Raymond and Joe(brothers).
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; William Johnson Jr. and Sherman Johnson. One sister; Mable Burton: Two brothers; Richard Green and James Green. Nine grandchildren; Calvin Jackson Jr., Felipia Jackson, Tammie Porter, Schunta Madden, William Johnson Jr., Mioshi Johnson, Rossinex Jackson, Jhavory Emory, and Amber Johnson. Eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and the Dunham Family, whom she loved very much.
