Narva L. Snoddy was the second child born February 17, 192'J, to the late Acy and Anna Harris Snoddy. She lived with her parents during their lifetime and was taught values essential for a prosperous life.
Narva's parents believed in education and sent their children to elementary school in the Pine Hill Community. She is a graduate of Shiloh High School and furthered her education at Bishop College receiving a B.S. Degree and earned a M.Ed. from Prairie View A&M College.
Her work history includes 38 years as a teacher; home economics, elementary 1st, 2nd,4th, and 5th grades; and special reading.
Religious activities consisted of active participation and a Member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she held numerous positions over the years.
Her community involvement was LISD Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee along with the Cleaver Convalescent Center. She was a member of Heroines of ]ericho, other organizations too numerous to mention and her beloved Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
Narva's Quote: "After retirement from the teaching profession, with the help of the Lord,I have been very active in fulfilling my desire to help others in special ways. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to Bless me so that I may be a better servant of His."
Narva ended her walk on earth November 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Loving memories will be cherished by her son, Marcus Alford and his wife Margo of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Cory Alford of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Raphael Alford and his wife Pamela of Pasadena, California; great-granddaughter, Sophie Alford of Pasadena, California; nephew, Kirk Snoddy; niece, Marie Snoddy; numerous other relatives, church family and friends.
