Nathaniel Bohannon Jr.

February 24, 1940 — January 13, 2020

Nathaniel Shepard Bohannon Jr. was the first child born to Elsie May Bing and Nathaniel Shepard Bohannon Sr. on February 24, 1940. He departed to his heavenly home on January 13, 2020.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Jessica Bing and Lillian DeLeon.

Nathaniel attended elementary school in Birmingham, Alabama, High School in Mobile, Alabama, then graduated with an Associates Degree in Arts in 1975 followed by a Bachelors of Arts Degree in 1977, Columbia College and finished with a Masters of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine University in 1981.

His employment consisted of the United States Army from 1961 and retired in 1984 and the State of Colorado from 1985 and retired in 2000. Awards received while in the U.S. Army: Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device; Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Unit Citation; Army Commendation Medal with 2nd Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (3); NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5); Vietnam Honor Medal with Gold Clasp; Good Conduct Medal with 7th Award and Meritorious Service Medal.

Nathaniel was involved in his community as well, constantly giving back to various causes and groups as well as founding The Ambassadors of Christ Male Chorus in Colorado and The Ambassadors for Christ II Male Chorus in Texas. He also belonged to the: NAACP, More Light Lodge #468 F&AM PHA, United Supreme Council 33rd Degree A.A.S.R. of Freemasonry, F.J., U.S.A. P.H.A., Hiram Consistory #2, and the Southern Eagles.

Nathaniel is survived by his wife, Malinda A. Bohannon; daughter and son- in- law, Pamela Bohannon Pea and Charles Pea; granddaughters, Victoria and Elizabeth Bohannon‐Pea; brother, Jeffrey L. Bohannon; nieces, Anita Bing‐Dabney, Amanda Bing, Oslyn Williams, Lelena Williams, Lisa Williams; nephews, Vaughn Bohannon, Kurwin Bohannon, Jeffrey D. Bohannon, Eric Bohannon, Robert Bing, Marvin Bing, Gary Wright, and Anthony Wright
