Robbie Meadors Jones was born in Claibourne Parish, Louisiana on September 27, 1921, to Robert and Sallie Meadors. She was the youngest of 8 children. Robbie was raised in a family with strong Christian values and she accepted Christ at an early age.
Robbie attended school in the Mt. Sanai School District of Claibourne Parish, La.
Upon her departure from Claibourne Parish, Robbie was blessed with two children from a previous marriage, Albertine and Alfred.
Robbie met and married Henry Jones in Leon, Florida in April 1943. From this union, Warren Jones was born. Warren and Henry Jones both predeceased Robbie as did her siblings.
Robbie worked as an assembly line worker during President Jimmy Carter’s time as President. She always referenced him as being her favorite president because it was President Carter who allowed her and her co-workers to have an “early retirement” with retirement pay.
Robbie is survived and truly missed by her children Albertine Thompson (Bob) of Steelton, Pa. and Alfred Livingston (Anne) of Sun Lakes, AZ. Additionally by Henry’s daughter Vivian Johnson. She leaves to mourn her absence 8 grandchildren, Peter, Paul, Vicky, Sharla, Diana, Brittany, Natalie, and Nathan, as well as 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
