Rosie Lee Johnson-Smith was born September 30, 1948, in Longview, Texas to the proud parentage of Dessie Mae and A.D. Johnson. She was educated in the Longview Public Schools.
Rosie accepted Christ as Lord at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with St. James Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her transition, She loved her church and pastor.
Rosie worked for Gibson's for over forty years, where she was loved by many.
Rosie Lee Johnson-Smith entered eternal rest Friday, December 17, 2021. She will be forever remembered
by her favorite sayings:: "Now looka here", "Let me tell you this"," I'm gone let you go". She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Smith; and her brothers and sisters, Carolyn Lavelle Fuller of Providence, RI, Mozela Rhodes of Dallas, Tx; Deborah Johnson of Fort Worth, Tx; Imogene Johnson of Beaumont, Tx. and Angela Christine Johnson Finney of Fort Worth, Tx: brothers; Hobert Wilis Rhodes of Dallas, Tx; A.D. Johnson Jr. of Chico, CA; Dennis Johnson of Dallas, Tx. and Habert Rhodes of Dallas, Tx.
She will forever reside in the hearts of her survivors: daughter Regina; two grandsons, Johnathan and Kevin; two great-granddaughters, McKenzie Bush and Payton Bush; son Curtis Lynn Johnson; sister Adelle Johnson Smith; brothers Kenneth Rhodes and Charles Johnson;a host of nieces and nephews, amongst which Tonya Tucker was her favorite whom she would talk to for hourssssssss everyday lol.
