Stevie Carpenter Sr. was the fourth of six children born on February 17, 1955, in Longview, Texas, to the parentage of Johnny and Sylvester Marie Carpenter.
He graduated from high school in 1972, where he was active and excelled in several sports. In the summer of 1977, while working at Bonanza Steak House as a Lead Broil Chef, Stevie met the love of his life, May Green. She was a sophomore in high school and also employed there as a waitress. They had a short courtship and were married in the Spring of 1980 and to this union, four children were born.
Stevie was a doting father who was excited about the opportunity to pass on his love of sports and music. Stevie was a role model, worked hard and tirelessly for his family every day of his life. He worked as a chef, refinery worker, construction worker, landscaper and in hospitality and caregiving.
In his leisure time, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed having BBQ's, family dinners, playing pool, bowling, playing basketball and softball whenever the occasion arose.
He made memories with his family and had such a big heart that he and his wife later adopted their three youngest children.
On April 1, 2019, Stevie departed this life. Preceding him in death are his, parents Johnny and Sylvester Marie Carpenter and brother Johnny Carpenter Jr.
Left to celebrate his memories are his wife of 41 years, May Carpenter; Daughters: April Denise Carpenter and Evangeline Carpenter; Sons: Stevie (Amiee) Carpenter Jr.; Kenny Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter and Joshua Carpenter; Grandsons: Isaiah Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter and Aiden Carpenter; Grand-daughter: Vivian Carpenter and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
