Travis Jimerson

July 21, 1922 — March 16, 2020

Travis Jimerson was born to the late parentage of Andrew Jimerson and Mary Ella Templeton on July 21, 1922 in Malakoff, Texas.

At an early age Travis and his siblings moved to Longview, to live and was raised by their uncle the late T.D. Templeton and his wife Louise Davis Templeton. He was also, preceded in by his wife Bernice Fagans Jimerson, brothers Jett T. Jimerson and Leroy Jimerson, sister Ella Mae Jimerson Daniels and niece Ella Louise Miller.

He attended Ned E. Williams and Fredonia Schools. At the age of 19 he enlisted and served his country in the U.S. World War II. He enjoyed working and staying active. He worked full- time at Borden's Milk Company for several years., while working part-time at The House of Music delivering pianos on the weekend. Later he became a dedicated employee at Crosby Lebus Manufacturing where he worked for over 35 years before he retired.

He was a long-time member of Fredonia Baptist Church where he served faithfully from a young age. He was also a member of the male chorus and the senior choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Charles " Charlie" Jimerson of Los Angeles, CA; Willie "Jody" Jimerson (Juanita) of Longview, TX; one daughter Teresa Christian Darden (Ronald) of Longview, TX; one sister, Alice "A.Z." Gray; two nephews Jimmy Jimerson and Teddie Pegues; one niece Gloria Jean Hackney and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
